Enriched Curriculum
MOE emphasises Critical Thinking as a key part of its 21st Century Core Competencies, which means that at least 15% of exam questions are high-difficulty problems requiring unconventional solutions. To excel and achieve an AL1, students must not only master textbook topics but also gain additional exposure to challenging problems. Our curriculum is designed to broaden students' mathematical perspectives and provide extra exposure to non-routine questions, helping them become well-rounded mathematicians.
Progressive Advancement
Our structured, progressive curriculum ensures students build competence and confidence through step-by-step learning. We start by identifying and addressing conceptual gaps. Next, we equip students with strategies and tools for tackling higher-difficulty problems. Finally, we focus on developing critical thinking skills to enable students to solve non-routine and unfamiliar problems. This approach paves the way for scoring an AL1 and achieving DSA through math competitions.
Independent Learning
Enrichment is most effective when students are self-motivated. Our independent learning approach encourages students to take ownership of their education. We foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students can participate, take risks, and articulate their answers, stimulating their critical thinking. To make learning engaging, we incorporate gamified elements through our proprietary Tutify Titans© game environment.
Critical Thinking
Rote learning and memorisation are insufficient for achieving Gold or Silver in Math Olympiad. Examiners create unique problems not found in standard training materials. At Tutify, our curriculum includes a robust critical thinking skills training process specifically aimed at math problem solving. This process effectively develops students' logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and visualisation skills, ensuring they can confidently tackle unfamiliar questions.
Strategies & Tools
During their Math Olympiad training, students are equipped with our 28 Effective Strategies and Tools for solving problems with speed and accuracy. These strategies and tools are designed to help students address 90% of questions in their PSLE Math examinations and Math Olympiad competitions.
