Enriched Curriculum
MOE's places strong emphasis on Critical Thinking as part of its 21st Century Core Competencies. This means that at least 15% of questions in the exam are high difficulty questions that require non-conventional solutions. Not only must students master the topics taught in the textbook, they must also have extra curricular exposure in order to solve challenging problems and attain an AL1. Our curriculum aims to expand students' mathematical horizon and equip them with extra exposure to non-routine questions to create well-rounded mathematicians.
Progressive Advancement
Our structured and progressive curriculum design ensures that students build competence and confidence through progressive learning. First, we work with your child to identify the conceptual gaps and fix them. Then we move on to equip them with strategies and tools for effective problem solving at the higher difficulty level. Finally, we develop their critical thinking skills to ensure they are able to solve non-routine and unseen problems. This is their roadmap to scoring an AL1 and getting DSA through math competitions.
Independent Learning
Enrichment can only do so much if the student is not self-motivated. This is why we have an independent learning approach, where students can take ownership of their learning. We create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students have the opportunity to participate and take risks. Students are also given a platform to articulate their answers, stimulating their thinking. On top of that, to make learning fun and exciting, we gamify the learning process with our proprietary Tutify Titans© game environment.
Critical Thinking
Rote learning (drilling) and memorisation is no longer effective in ensuring students achieve a Gold or Silver award in Math Olympiad. In fact, examiners have been creating ‘unique’ problems that cannot be found in any 10-year series or Math Olympiad training books. At Tutify, we strong and proven critical thinking skills training process specifically targeted at math problem solving built into our curriculum. This is effective at developing our students' logical reasoning, pattern spotting and visualisation skills. When our students encounter unfamiliar questions, they will be confident in solving them.
Strategies & Tools
Throughout the course of their Math Olympiad training, our students will be equipped with our 28 Effective Strategies and Tools to solve problems with speed and accuracy. They will then apply these strategies and tools to resolve 90% of all questions in their PSLE Math examination, Maths Olympiads competitions and the GEP Screening Test.
